Elmbridge Borough Council Digital High Street Fund
Did you know Elmbridge Borough Council are offering grants to local businesses to upgrade or establish e-commerce websites?
The grant funds up to 90% of costs up to £2000 for independent retail businesses based in the primary or secondary frontage of Elmbridge’s town centres and high streets.
UPDATE : 28th July 2020
The grant was originally only available to independent retailers in Primary and Secondary locations.
Elmbridge Council have now expanded the eligibility criteria so that special consideration may be given to ‘in town’ applications from independent retailers with shop frontage not in Primary or Secondary locations. This will be at the discretion of the board.
If you would like to discuss this further with us or to obtain a quote for your grant application please leave your details below or contact us here.
If you’re a food retailer you could implement an online ordering and collection service, so your customers know they won’t have to queue for too long.
If you’re a retail outlet you could showcase your stock online so your customers can browse and purchase entirely online or via a click and collect service.
The grant criteria stipulates that all applicants must supply a quote from an Elmbridge based website designer and we would be happy to provide a quote for your business.
We have already helped many local retailers successfully apply for this grant and have implemented online shops, ordering services and e-commerce platforms across the borough.

One early recipient of the grant The Art Agency’s Emma Riley said: “We were looking into building a new e-commerce website so the timing could not have been better. Selling on the high street is becoming increasingly difficult so we must evolve and find new channels through which to sell our artists’ work.”
Websites which climb to the top of the search engine rankings and drive masses of traffic to their site never just ‘happen’ - they have to be positioned there.
